My profession is me and I’m my profession. I love that I am able to alleviate pain and create beautiful smiles for those I care for, ensuring that their lives are improved because of my skills. Whether a patient comes to me for a routine exam or because they need more intensive care, I am honored by the trust they place in me.
I am particularly humbled by those who come to me after having dealt with dental anxiety in the past. The fact that they are now seeking care is excellent, but that they have chosen my staff and me for their oral healthcare needs, lets me know that we are doing things right. My team works so well with these patients, reassuring them, listening to them, providing them with support and knowledge.
Caring for my patients, for me, is more than just coming into the office: each day brings with it opportunities to help those in our community and to learn from them. The discussions we have, and the friendships that develop, are rewarding and invigorating.
In addition to my formal degrees, I am constantly seeking to learn and expand my skills as a dentist. Ours is a field which is continually changing, with new technologies and treatment options being developed, and it is essential for me to be constantly learning in order to provide my patients with most proven, up-to-date care available. To offer them anything less is not acceptable. I regularly attend conferences, seminars, lectures, and hands-on trainings in oral healthcare-related topics and my pleasure reading is often focused on learning new and innovative dentistry techniques.
While I am a native of Colorado Springs, CO, my family and I have called Lancaster, PA our home for 13 years. My wonderful wife, Janet, and daughters Skyler and Brenna, and I, share much of our free time together. Outside of my family time, you might find me scuba diving or going for a motorcycle ride. But, to be honest, dentistry is my biggest interest, even when I’m not in the office.
Giving back to our community is very important to me: a strong community is good for all of us, and I believe in helping those who need assistance. In addition to supporting veteran’s activities, I’m also a supporter of the Water Street Rescue Mission and Toys for Tots.
